The Dreamforce ‘19 Testing Track
If you are one of the 170K+ registered attendees for Dreamforce ‘19, you’re likely starting to think about your schedule and how to make the most of your time in San Fran. (Fun Fact: There will be roughly the same number of Dreamforce attendees as the entire population of Providence, Rhode Island. Let that sink in.)
By crafting your agenda in advance, you can just pack the essentials (sneakers that can handle the massive mileage you’ll be trekking in and around the Moscone center) and unpack any existential FOMO.
To help you plan your trip, we took a poll around the office to put together the following list of essential Dreamforce content you (we’re looking at you testers) should check out while you’re there. Be sure to also swing by and come say hey! The Provar crew will be at booth #810 at the expo (to the left of the main customer entrance) and in the Trailhead section near the Admin Theater.
(1) Discover Test Automation with Provar
Are you tired of manual Salesforce testing? Good testing is essential for successful Salesforce implementations. But when testing won’t scale, what’s the solution? In this session Jon Robinson, Head of North America at Provar, will demonstrate how to achieve testing efficiency at scale with a point-and-click testing tool. You’ll also hear from experts at Alm. Brand and Splunk on how to design a test automation strategy for success.
It’s by far the biggest, loudest and most raucous party of the week. Prior headliners included U2, Foo Fighters, The Killers and Green Day. All you need to come is your badge! It’s also worth noting that you can purchase a VIP ticket for the event with all proceeds benefiting the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.
Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Oracle Park.
(3) Dreamforce Parties!
On top of the numerous free activities hosted by Salesforce, many sponsors also rent out venues throughout the city. We always look to our good friend, Ben McCarthy, a London-based Salesforce enthusiast & Managing Director of EMPAUA, for some pro tips about where to go and what to do. He put together this list of Ultimate Dreamforce Parties 2019 that includes event information and registration links. (Thanks Ben!)
(4) 6 Secrets for Service Cloud Success: Entitlements Automation
If you’ve ever implemented Entitlements & Milestones in Service Cloud you’ll know there’s plenty more to do than just switching it on. In this session Richard Clark, Chief Technology Officer at Provar, will share both declarative and apex solutions to help you deliver a slick solution for SLA management to your users including: auto completion of milestones, automated Entitlement record creation, populate Entitlement allocation to Cases, and Case SLA stop/start.
(5) Implement Code-less Automation to Keep Up With the Rapid Development Model
Are you having challenges maintaining consistent quality in your Salesforce org? In this session, Canada Drives, a Canadian fintech company founded in 2010, will talk about how one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies has overcome this hurdle and successfully implemented codefree test automation. You’ll walk away from this session with the know-how to build your own code-less automation framework and ensure the highest quality in product delivery.
(6) Honey I Shrunk the Risk
This year Provar has been collaborating with Salesforce on an innovative pilot program to improve our customers’ release experience. In this program, Provar customers share their test cases with Salesforce to get their business scenarios run as part of Salesforce’s official release testing.
In this session, Heather Ouellette, Principal Business Analyst at Salesforce, and Geraint Waters, CEO at Provar, will talk about this pilot program and discuss how to overcome the challenges associated with testing a platform like Salesforce.
(7) Automated Testing for Admins
The Winter ’19 Release introduced test coverage for flows and process builders. Flow and Process Builder automation in Salesforce supports critical business processes. In this session, Harjindar Singh Sethi, IT Versatilist with Mehar IT Consultancy, and Frank van Meegen, Salesforce Application Architect with WolfTec, will explain the relevance of unit tests for flows. They will also be creating a simple test using Arrange-Act-Assert (AAA) patterns whereby the threshold to write the unit test code will be very low.
We are looking forward to Dreamforce ‘19 and hope to see you there! Be sure to stop by booth #810 at the expo (to the left of the main customer entrance) and also in the Trailhead Area (near the Admin theater) to visit the Provar team and find out more about our test automation solution for Salesforce.
